Here are the top stories today in Boise:

  1. It is the time of the year for back to school shopping. For 80 upcoming students, members of the Ada County Sheriff's Office were there to help pick out clothes, shoes, water bottles and back packs. Ariana Pyper with KBOI-TV has the story. (Idaho News)
  2. As the college has done in the past, Boise State University is stepping up and extending deadlines for wildland firefighters. In a Facebook posting, BSU announced students providing proof of their status as a firefighter this summer will receive an extension through August 27, 2021. (BoiseStateUnversity)
  3. Somewhere, just after the first dam on the Boise River, there is a plastic bag with my wallet, keys and some cash from circa 1980. Like many, the river holds many artifacts from float trips of the past. LITE-FM's Michelle Heart introduces Boise's "River Robin Hood", aka Rocky Detwiler. The snorkeling enthusiast reunites owners with his finds from the river. (He has yet to contact with my key to a Chevy Luv) (liteonline)
  4. If you have out-of-town guests or in-laws coming to Boise, KIDO's Mikey has just released the "5 Places You Must Show Your Friends." After you finish the article, scroll down and discover "Boise's Ultimate Taco Guide." Your mother-in-law will be impressed with your knowledge of the city and the great eats. (kidotalkradio)
  5. If a brand new yellow shirt is in your closet, it may signal your stance on students wearing masks in schools. Nic Streng of IdahoEdNews writes yellow is the newest sign of mask optional. (IdahoEdNews)
