The Boise Daily offers you news both serious and on the light side. To start with tasty news, Oreo has two new flavors-comment back to us on what you think of them. Scott Spencer, a family friend to me, will be honored at the upcoming balloon festival. The Bantu community is looking for answers from the city and no masks will be required this upcoming fall. - A highlight of living in Boise returns as the Spirit of Boise Balloon Classic returns with a memorial to Scott Spencer. The staff of KIVI-TV report the celebration will include the Nite Glow along with daily launches and a special tribute to Spencer, the Balloon Classic founder. (6 On Your Side)
- Carolyn Komatsoulis (Idaho Press) reports for KTVB-TV that the Bantu community is meeting with Boise leaders and are planning protests after a police shooting of Mohamud Hassan Mkoma by officers June 27. (KTVB.com)
- The driver of a stolen moving van, originally reported as a possible intoxicated driver, was shot by Boise Police after a pursuit near Overland Road. (Boise Patch)
- Students in the Boise School District will return back to the classrooms in the fall without masks if the vote by trustees goes as expected on Monday evening. James Dawson of the Boise State Public Radio reports on what we can expect come the first day back to school. (Boise State Public Radio)

- The Idaho Nonprofit Center will hold a regional roundtable regarding Data-Driven Impact & Story Telling on Tuesday. The link can be found here.
- The Children's Home Society of Idaho will hold a Peer Youth Group - A Group For Her - Ages 13-16 on Tuesday. (2:30 p.m.)

- The Bowler Park dedication and ribbon cutting occurs Tuesday at 11 a.m. A short ceremony will begin with remarks from project partners. The ceremony will take place just south of the parking lot near the skate/scooter plaza. Bowler Park includes a variety of amenities including a fenced dog park, skate/scooter plaza, bocce ball courts, playground and more.
- The Household Hazardous Waste Collection for Tuesday takes place at the Cole and Ustick Library starting at noon.
- The Boise City Council Meeting starts at 6 p.m. on Tuesday in the Council chambers. The agenda for the meeting can be found here.
