Taking a look at the weather today:

Patch Picks for the upcoming week: Obviously, new organizations are unable to provide the reader with exactly the stories to come. However, taking a look at what happened last week and the schedule of events for this week, here are some ideas of what you will see in the Boise Daily.

1. Boise Mayor Lauren McLean's announcement on Friday regarding a new shelter not now planned for the State Street area places the emphasis back on the Interfaith Sanctuary to devise a new plan. We anticipate some type of announcement from the group on ideas on the placement of a new shelter.

2. Keeping with city government, the work continues on new zoning regulations. As work continues on this, more organizations and individuals will start commenting on the changes.

3. Tuesday will mark the opening day of float season, formally. The Boise River should be packed with floaters enjoying one of the things making Boise special.

4. Last week was relatively quiet on the political front. The quiet from two camps for Idaho governor, Governor Brad Little and Lieutenant Governor Janice McGeachin, was typical for two parties not speaking to each other. We doubt that quiet continues for an additional week without a verbal shot thrown sometime this week.

5. Speaking of running for governor, candidate Ammon Bundy has stated a big announcement is coming Saturday. BoisePatch will be present and carry the full story for you.

Boise Fact of the Day:

The salary for the Lieutenant Governor of Idaho is $48, 406.

About me: My grandmother raised her family on Walnut Street, just off Warm Springs Avenue. She had an old, two bedroom home for many years along with a little acreage to grow a garden and a huge apple tree. Returning to that site now, hard to imagine her home every stood there.
