Suspect Identified, Gun Produced In Officer Involved Shooting
Forrest T. Moore, 31-years old, drew the weapon from his side and pointed it at officers according to preliminary reports.

BOISE, ID — The officer-involved shooting which took place on N. 21st St. just before 1:30 Saturday morning remains under investigation by the Ada County Critical Incident Task Force (CITF).

The suspect has been identified by the Ada County Coroner as Forrest T. Moore, age 31. Through the investigation, evidence shows the suspect was squatting at the residence on 21st street which was unoccupied and under construction.
The suspect was in possession of the weapon pictured below. Upon initial contact the suspect immediately drew the weapon from his side and pointed it at officers, holding it in a two-hand firing position at close range. The suspect’s weapon was later determined to be a semi-automatic bb gun.

The involved-officers, Officer K. Montague and Officer T. Sigler began their careers with Boise Police two and half years ago and are currently on paid administrative leave per department policy. One officer suffered a laceration on his arm during the interaction with the suspect. The incident remains under investigation by the Ada County Critical Incident Task Force being led by the Ada County Sheriff’s Office. The officers were wearing their on-body video cameras and that evidence is being reviewed as part of the ongoing investigation.
