5. Friday marked a good news day for neighborhoods around State Street. The neighbors spoke and City Hall listened. Boise Mayor Lauren McLean has asked Interfaith Sanctuary to hold plans on a new shelter planned for State Street in a story covered by Don Day and Autumn Robertson of Boise Dev. (BoiseDev)

About me: My grandmother raised her family on Walnut Street, just off Warm Springs Avenue. She had an old, two bedroom home for many years along with a little acreage to grow a garden and a huge apple tree. Returning to that site now, hard to imagine her home every stood there.
