• 78-year-old pedestrian dies after being struck by vehicle in Meridian (idahonews.com) — A 78-year-old man died after being struck by an eastbound GMC Sierra while crossing Fairview Avenue near NE 5th Street in Meridian on Tuesday night. First responders and witnesses tried to help at the scene, and Meridian Police’s crash reconstruction team is now investigating the circumstances of the collision.
   

• Nampa, Meridian announce dates for Christmas tree recycling (ktvb.com) — Meridian residents can recycle real Christmas trees for free with curbside pickup Jan. 5–9, 2026, or by dropping them at the Meridian Transfer Station starting Dec. 26. Be sure to remove decorations and flocking, cut taller trees into sections, and place them properly by your carts so they can be composted instead of landfilled.
