2.1M Ballots Already Cast In IL: See Latest Data
The campaigns of both presidential candidates Donald Trump and Kamala Harris pushed early voting to bank votes ahead of Election Day.

ILLINOIS— More than 2.1 million Illinois voters have already cast their ballots in Tuesday’s 2024 presidential election, joining nearly 76.5 million Americans who have cast mail-in or early in-person votes. The number of early voters in Illinois as of Monday morning was 2,188,370.
According to a Monday analysis by NBC News of data from election officials across the country, 55 percent of early votes in Illinois were cast by Democrats, 36 percent were by Republicans and 9 percent were by people who haven’t declared a party.
Not all Illinois residents who requested an early-vote ballot had returned them by Monday. The returned ballots represent 63 percent of those requested by Democrats, 27 percent by Republicans and 10 percent by no-party voters.

On Tuesday, residents will be able to access same-day voter registration and cast their ballots between 6 a.m. and 7 p.m. If you register to vote in person, you’ll need two forms of ID, and at least one must show your current address.
Polls are open in Illinois from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday. Anyone in line to vote by 7 p.m. will still be allowed to cast their ballot, even if it takes past closing time.

The campaigns of both former President Donald Trump, the Republican nominee, and his Democratic opponent Vice President Kamala Harris pushed early voting to bank votes ahead of Election Day. Of early votes cast nationally, 41 percent have been cast by Democrats, 39 percent by Republicans and 20 percent by no-party voters.
Besides the all-important presidential race, Illinois voters will decide 17 U.S. House races on the federal ballot. Among the most discussed during this cycle has been Illinois' 6th District, which pits incumbent Democrat Sean Casten against Republican challenger Niki Conforti. Independent write-in candidate Peter Meyer, Jr., is also on the ballot.
Another race Illinois residents will be keeping an eye on is Illinois' 14th District, which has Democratic incumbent Lauren Underwood facing off with Republican challenger James Marter.
