Killer Who Cut Baby From Teen's Womb Gets 50 Years: Reports

The woman who strangled a young expectant mother and cut her baby from her womb was sentenced to 50 years in prison after pleading guilty to first-degree murder. Marlen Ochoa-Lopez, 19, was found dead in May 2019 after authorities say she was lured to Clarisa Figueroa's home after the two exchanged messages on a "Help A Mother Out" Facebook group.

Village 'Complicit' In Car Wash Risks: Victim's Mom

The late teen's mother called for closing the car wash, citing four other crashes since 2007. Sean Patrick Richards, 14, was walking on the sidewalk next to the car wash from the orthodontist's office to the library when a 16-year-old car wash employee fatally hit him.

Woman Rescued After Jumping Into River

Crews were dispatched after a bystander witnessed the woman jump into the river near the western edge of the dam. Firefighters deployed three rescue boats and one dive team to search for the woman, who police saw floating downstream.

‘Rebel Nun With A Cause’ Sr. Pat Murphy Marks 95th Birthday

The Mercy Sister doesn't want presents, but is asking for donations to Catherine's Caring Cause to help asylum seekers seek a better life. "Thank you to everybody who came to celebrate 95 years because you’ve all been part of them," Sr. Pat said. "They couldn’t say it personally, but our migrant brothers and sisters and the children thank you too. They will especially benefit from your presence today. I know most of you came maybe for this old goat. I don’t know what else to say but gracias."

Swiftie Night, Ghostbusters Night, 10 Nights Of Fireworks: Ballpark

Events will include a "Ghostbusters" night in honor of new owner Bill Murray, as well as events for Swifties, including a night in which all fans named Taylor or Travis get in free with valid ID.

The Beatles' Ringo Starr To Play At Local Event

The 83-year-old Beatles drummer and his All Starr Band will perform. Tickets go on sale to residents only May 11 and open up to non-residents May 13.
