'Brief Threat' For Tornadoes, Strong Storms In Chicago Area: NWS
Damaging winds are the main threat, but strong storms and possible tornadoes can't be ruled out. Flurries are possible Tuesday night.

ILLINOIS — Severe storms could still be in the cards for the Chicago area Tuesday, as the National Weather Service is warning of a "brief severe weather threat" that could bring strong winds, severe storms and possibly tornadoes.
The greatest risk is for damaging winds, the National Weather Service said, with the main threat between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.
Winds could be strong enough to down tree limbs and fences, and "a brief tornado can't be ruled out."

All storms are expected to produce lightning strikes, brief downpours and gusty winds.
The most at-risk area is east of I-55, NWS said.

Tuesday night is expected to be breezy, with a chance of snow flurries.
Things will dry out mid-week, with highs in the mid-40s Wednesday and the upper 50s Thursday, before more chances for storms on Friday night and into the weekend.
