Storms, Showers Possible All Week As 'Unsettled' Pattern Continues For Chicago Area
There will still be many dry hours despite the daily storm forecast.
ILLINOIS — An "unsettled" weather pattern will bring rain and thunderstorms to the Chicago area this week, according to the National Weather Service. Temps look to be in the 70s most of the week, with a high of 80 possible to start the week.
A few storms are possible Monday and Monday night. According to the weather service, the main threat will be locally heavy rain and gusty winds.
Monday had a high of 80, Tuesday a high of 81, Wednesday a high of 74, Thursday a high of 73, and 78 on Friday.

There are storm chances every single day this week.
"However, it won't be a complete wash-out as most hours will remain dry," the weather service said.

On Tuesday night and Wednesday, the highest chances for storms are south of Interstate 80. And on Friday, rain is possible for areas along and east of Interstate 55, according to the current forecast.

MONDAY: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1 p.m. Mostly sunny, with a high near 79. South southwest wind 5 to 10 mph.
MONDAY NIGHT: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 1 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 63. South wind around 5 mph.
TUESDAY: A slight chance of showers, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 10 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 79. Calm wind becoming north around 5 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 40 percent.
TUESDAY NIGHT: A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Cloudy, with a low around 63. Northeast wind around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40 percent.
WEDNESDAY: A chance of showers, with thunderstorms also possible after 10 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 72. Northeast wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50 percent.
WEDNESDAY NIGHT: A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 61. Chance of precipitation is 50 percent.
THURSDAY: A chance of showers, with thunderstorms also possible after 1 p.m. Partly sunny, with a high near 70. Chance of precipitation is 50 percent.
THURSDAY NIGHT: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 58.
FRIDAY: Mostly sunny, with a high near 74.
