Man Arrested In 'Sextortion' Plot Targeting Suburban Teen

In February 2023, a teen told police that he had sent explicit photos of himself online to a person claiming to be a 16-year-old girl and that person then threatened to show the pictures to the boy’s friends and family unless the teen provided electronic payments, authorities said. Police have now arrested a 39-year-0ld Texas man in connection with the plot.

Officer Killed In Crash On Way To Work: Police

Officer Robert Fryc, 43, had worked for the Glenview Police Department since 2007. Fryc was recently recognized by village trustees for helping save the life of a fellow officer over the summer. A 23-year-old suburban man has been charged with reckless homicide in the officer's death.
