Snow Possible As 'Early Spring Chill' Arrives To Chicago Area

Snow showers are possible Monday afternoon, the National Weather Service said.

ILLINOIS — An "early spring chill" is expected Monday, even bringing a chance of snow showers before temperatures "slowly moderate toward the end of the week," according to the National Weather Service.

Monday will have a high of 46. Temperatures will fall to 36 by 5 p.m., the weather service said. Winds could gust as high as 50 mph, and scattered rain and snow showers are possible between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.; and scattered snow showers possible after 3 p.m.

Snow showers on Monday afternoon won't see any accumulation due to warm ground temperatures, the weather service said.

"The chilly air will remain through the middle of the week as another storm system moves through the area," the weather service said.

Tuesday will have a high of 46, Wednesday a high of 54, Thursday a high of 54 and Friday a high of 57.

Snowflakes are also possible on Wednesday, the weather service said.
