Hotter Temps, Scattered Storms For Father's Day Weekend: Here's When To Expect Rain
Although scattered storms and showers are possible this weekend, many areas will remain dry.
ILLINOIS — Scattered showers and storms are possible throughout Father's Day weekend, although many areas will remain dry, according to the National Weather Service.
Friday has a high of 82, Saturday has a high of 84 and Sunday has a high of 86.
"Slightly cooler temperatures are expected [Friday] before warming back up solidly into the 80s away from the lakeshore, where high temperatures in the 60s and 70s will remain," the weather service said on its Facebook.

On Friday, there is a chance of isolated to widely-scattered thunderstorms in the afternoon and early evening, according to the weather service. Storms are expected mainly south of Interstate 80, and severe weather is not expected.
Saturday will also feature a chance of scattered storms mainly southeast of Interstate 55; and Father's Day on Sunday could bring isolated storms mainly west of I-39.

There is also a limited thunderstorm risk starting Saturday through Thursday, according to the weather service. Looking ahead at the work week's forecast, there looks to be a chance of storms or showers throughout the week.
Here is a look at the daily forecast, as per the weather service:
FRIDAY: A 40 percent chance of showers, mainly after 10 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 79. South southeast wind 5 to 10 mph.
FRIDAY NIGHT: A 30 percent chance of showers, mainly before 1 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 64. East northeast wind around 10 mph.
SATURDAY: Partly sunny, with a high near 81. East northeast wind around 10 mph, with gusts as high as 15 mph.
SATURDAY NIGHT: Mostly clear, with a low around 61. Northeast wind 5 to 10 mph.
SUNDAY: A slight chance of showers between 1 and 4 p.m., then a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after 4 p.m. Mostly sunny, with a high near 84. East northeast wind 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.
SUNDAY NIGHT: A slight chance of thunderstorms before 7 p.m., then a slight chance of showers after 1 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 64. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.
