High Winds Prompt Fire Risk Monday Across The Chicago Area
Typical of early spring weather, it will be rainy on and off this week with cool to mild temperatures.
ILLINOIS — Monday will start the week very blustery, as gust up to 40 mph are expected as well as an elevated fire weather risk, according to the National Weather Service.
Monday has a high of 53, and conditions will become increasingly dry, resulting in an elevated brush and grass fire danger, on Monday afternoon south of Interstate 80 and especially south of the Illinois and Kankakee Rivers, the weather service said.
After a windy Monday, Tuesday will have precipitation throughout the day and a high of 54 degrees.

The weather service said portions of the area will see rain, but it could be mixed with wet snow early to mid-Tuesday morning.

"A warming trend is then in store late in the week," the weather service said via social media.

Wednesday will have a high of 55, Thursday a high of 59 and Friday a high of 71 degrees. Wednesday will be dry, but the chance for showers returns on Thursday, according to the weather service.
