ILLINOIS — As we head into a new week, Patch has rounded up the stories you may have missed on Saturday and Sunday.
Over the weekend, dozens were arrested at a pro-Palestinian encampment at the Art Institute of Chicago, and a teen was arrested months after police say he recklessly caused a crash that killed a husband and wife.
Residents also turned out in droves to see the Route 66 landmark Gemini Giant unmasked, with his famous astronaut helmet removed as officials prepare to move him to his new, permanent home.

Gemini Giant Unmasked: Mayor Talks About New Location
Months after he was moved from his longtime location along Route 66, several hundred people visited the village's public works facility Saturday to witness something magical: the 30-foot-tall, world-famous Gemini Giant without his astronaut helmet covering his face. The weekend marked the 17th annual Illinois Route 66 Red Carpet Corridor Festival, two days of family fun along the most famous two-lane highway in America's history. It was a chance to see the iconic giant before he's moved to his new home in the coming months.

Woman Attacked By Stranger, His Dog In Park: Police
Authorities say the woman was walking her dog in the suburban park when a Wisconsin man, who was in the park with his unleashed dog, suddenly attacked and beat her, leaving her with serious injuries. Police say the man's dog also attacked and bit the woman.
Teen Arrested On Reckless Homicide Charges In Crash That Killed Couple
"My thoughts are first and foremost with those who have lost loved ones in this devastating and senseless crash," the police chief said in announcing the charges, months after the suburban couple was killed in a crash. A 19-year-old man, who was free on gun charges at the time of the crash, is accused of recklessly causing their deaths.
Serious Injuries Reported In 3-Vehicle Crash
Neighbors told Patch that the driver of an SUV heading westbound appeared to have lost control and crashed into two vehicles in the eastbound lane.
Pro-Palestine Encampment At Art Institute Of Chicago Cleared, Dozens Arrested
Police say demonstrators set up an encampment around 11 a.m. Saturday at a garden on Art Institute of Chicago's property, where they barricaded and locked the gates. The encampment reportedly included an area called "Hind's Garden" in memory of a young Palestinian girl they say Israel's military killed. The group was calling for information and accountability for the Art Institute of Chicago's support of organizations affiliated with Israel.

Police were called to the scene around 9 a.m. Saturday, and a person inside the vehicle was pronounced dead.
Teen Shot In Chest; 3 Cars, 1 House Struck
Police believe an occupant of a dark sport utility vehicle got out of the car and fired multiple gunshots, striking the victim once in the chest. Several cars and a house were also hit by gunfire.
