In another suburb, authorities say a fight between two men turned violent, leaving a 24-year-old hospitalized with gruesome injuries.

Man Slashes Victim's Stomach Open: Police
Police said the two men had been arguing while riding in a car before the altercation escalated on the side of the road, leaving the 24-year-old critically injured. The man accused in the stabbing was arrested at his home, while the victim was rushed to surgery.
Fights, Overcrowding, Unchaperoned Teens Force Carnival Closure: Authorities
Overcrowding and fights forced a spring carnival to close early Saturday, according to authorities, who said the event did not reopen Sunday as previously scheduled. Responding officers encountered “very large crowds” and fights, and worked with neighboring agencies to disperse people and clear the area, police said, adding the department "has no information or evidence at this time to corroborate the social media statements alleging shots fired and/or stabbing(s) during this incident."

Couple Found Shot To Death After Man Released On Domestic Battery Charges
Under the terms of his release on recent domestic battery charges, prosecutors said the man had been ordered to surrender his FOID card and firearms and not to have contact with his wife. Two teenagers and the family dog were able to exit the home after the shooting, police said.
