Trial For Ex-Deputy Who Shot Unarmed Woman Moved To Another City

The murder trial of a former Illinois sheriff's deputy who fatally shot Sonya Massey, an unarmed black woman, in her home last summer will be moved to another city because of intense publicity, a judge ruled.

Arrest Made After Man Shot In Neck Outside Bar

Officers responded just before 1 a.m. to the sports bar and grill, where a man outside on the sidewalk was approached by two masked people, one of whom pulled out a handgun and shot the victim in the neck, police said.

Sterigenics-Type Pollution May Be Allowed Under Trump: Report

Five years ago, the company closed its suburban plant amid government investigations and a barrage of complaints alleging that it was emitting ethylene oxide, a cancer-causing pollutant. Two years ago, its parent company announced it was paying out $408 million for more than 870 cases related to the pollutant, but it denied liability. A woman was also awarded more than $300 million after a judge found the plant was responsible for her breast cancer.
