Lucky Illinois Online Lottery Player Nets $924K Jackpot

ILLINOIS — A fortunate Illinois resident who purchased a lottery ticket won nearly $1 million this week after becoming the latest person to strike it rich in a popular lottery contest.

The latest winner captured a prize of $924,308 on Wednesday after purchasing a Fast Play Twenty 20s ticket online. While the nearly million-dollar payout is certainly life-changing, the jackpot was only the fifth largest paid out in the game this year, Illinois Lottery officials said.

Two months ago, another lucky Lottery player purchasing an online ticket took home the largest Fast Play Twenty 20s jackpot ever — capturing $1,248,040 in the process.

Previous winners in the game this year have won jackpots of $1 million, $979,168, and $965,644, Illinois Lottery officials said, before this week's winner won the nearly $925,000 prize.

Twenty 20s is an Illinois Lottery progressive jackpot Fast Play game. The jackpot begins at $50,000 and grows with each ticket sold statewide — in-store and online — until the jackpot is won, lottery officials said.

So far this month, more than 92,000 winning tickets for the Fast Play Twenty 20s game have been purchased, netting Illinois Lottery players prizes of more than $5.6 million.
