Memorial Day Weekend Weather: Here's How It Could Affect Your Plans
Here's when we could see rain over the long weekend.
ILLINOIS — Temperatures in the 60s with dry weather are expected for Memorial Day weekend in Illinois, according to the National Weather Service.
"Tranquil and largely unvarying weather conditions are expected to persist through Memorial Day," the weather service said.
The high for Friday is 68, 69 for Saturday, 68 for Sunday and 68 on Monday.

However, areas closer to the lake will be coolers, and struggle to make it out of the 50s, the weather service said.
The weekend looks to be partly sunny and dry, with the next chance of rain forecasted for Monday night into Tuesday.

Although temperatures have been cool, National Weather Service data shows that these temperatures are fairly average for this time of year. According to the data, the average temperature for May 23 is 62.9 degrees, 63.3 degrees on May 24, 63.6 degrees on May 25 and 63.9 degrees on May 26.
Here is a look at the daily forecast, according to the weather service:
- Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 66. North northwest wind 5 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.
- Friday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 43. East northeast wind 5 to 10 mph, becoming light east in the evening.
- Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 65. Light east northeast wind, increasing to 5 to 10 mph in the afternoon.
- Saturday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 46. East northeast wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 15 mph.
- Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 67. Northeast wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 15 mph.
- Sunday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 45.
- Memorial Day: Partly sunny, with a high near 67.
- Monday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 50.
