911 Caller Claiming To Be Boy Who Shot Brother Was Hoax: Police
A report of a 16-year-old boy shooting his 22-year-old brother was determined to be a swatting call. It happened days after another hoax call that police believe is linked to online gaming, in which a caller claimed to have shot his grandmother in the head and taken relatives hostage.
Reckless Homicide, DUI Charges In Deputy's Death: State Police
State police said investigators determined the truck driver was under the influence of drugs when he ran off the road and struck the deputy's squad car. The 35-year-old mom of three and Army National Guard veteran was laid to rest Thursday.

Man Found Dead In Submerged Truck
A resident arrived home to find tire tracks in his yard, and followed it to the river, where he found the truck submerged in the water. Authorities ran the license plate on the Toyota and learned it had fled from a police department about 1.5 miles away and had also been called in as a wrong-way driver.

Police responded to the Best Western for a welfare check after staff reported overhearing a crying child. Officers were able to rouse the mother and father and found drugs in the room, police said. The 5-year-old was placed into the care of the Department of Child and Family Services to be eventually placed with a different family members.

Police responded to a report of an unresponsive person around 6:30 a.m.
