Snow Accumulation, Severe Storms Could Hit Chicago Area: NWS
Inclement weather will continue through the week, with storms Monday afternoon and evening into Tuesday, before slushy snow begins.

ILLINOIS — April showers and snowstorms are likely for the Chicago area this week, along with temperatures that could dip into the mid-30s, according to the National Weather Service.
"Inclement weather will continue through the middle of the week with waves of showers and storms today into Tuesday," NWS said, with snow, or possibly periods of rain mixed with snow, Tuesday evening into Wednesday morning.
Monday brings a high of 56 degrees to parts of the Chicago area, with scattered showers and storms expected in the afternoon through Tuesday morning.

A few storms south of I-80 could produce damaging hail up to 1 inch in diameter and localized risk of flooding late in the evening.
There's a threat of slushy snow accumulation across northwestern Illinois Tuesday night and most of the Chicago area on Wednesday.

According to the National Weather Service, expected snowfall amounts range from 1-2 inches in Chicago and the northern suburbs, and less than an inch south of the Joliet area.
Wednesday will bring windy weather, with the potential for gusts over 45 mph, the National Weather Service said.
