'Taste Of Summer' Weather Coming To Illinois

ILLINOIS — A chilly morning started the day on Friday before a "warming trend through the weekend and into early next week" arrives, bringing soaring temperatures, according to the National Weather Service.

Saturday is expected to be breezy, with a high of 72 degrees and wind gusts up to 30 mph.

Sunday will be sunny, with a high near 71 degrees and clear skies.

The weather service said another "backdoor front" will cause falling temperatures on Saturday afternoon and a lake-enhanced front that could bring a brief chill during the afternoon.

The following few days will also be dry and sunny, with chances for storms and showers returning toward the middle of next week.

The warmer temperatures also mean increasing humidity levels, which could support the return of chances of storms, the weather service said.

The "taste of summer" pattern will bring highs into the upper 70s and low 80s.

As we look to the next work week, Monday will be mostly sunny with a high around 77 degrees.

A chance of scattered showers and storms returns Tuesday afternoon, with a high temperature near 77 and a low around 60 degrees Tuesday night.

Wednesday will be mostly sunny, with a high near 80 before partly cloudy skies Wednesday night.

Thursday is expected to bring the hottest weather, with sunny skies and a high near 90 degrees.
