ILLINOIS — Despite patchy fog Monday and Tuesday morning — including "freezing fog" that could contribute to slick spots on the road — the unseasonably warm weather is expected to continue this week in Illinois.

The National Weather Service was predicting "near-record warmth" this week, with highs of 58 degrees by Thursday and Friday.

But the even warmer temperatures come with chances for rain all day Thursday and Friday, along with windy conditions.

Patchy fog was expected to continue Monday night into Tuesday morning before the area sees mostly sunny skies.

The rest of the week, expect cloudy skies and windy or breezy weather, with the highest chance of rain Thursday night.
