'Wind-Whipped' Snow, 60 MPH Gusts Possible Wednesday
A wind advisory has been issued for Wednesday; a blustery and cold Thanksgiving will follow, plus accumulating snow for the weekend.
A "powerful cold front" is going to bring a very windy and cold day on Wednesday, with gusts up to 60 mph possible, according to the National Weather Service.
The weather service has issued a wind advisory for the Chicago area, from 3 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday. Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects, including holiday decorations, the weather service said.
Tree limbs could be blown down, and a few power outages could result as well.

Sporadic localized gusts up to 55 to 60 mph are possible during the day.
In addition to the wind, "wind-whipped snow showers and flurries," are also possible. There will be brief bouts of poor visibility with the snow, according to the weather service.

Temps will be in the 30s, but wind chills will be around 15 to 25 degrees.
Thanksgiving Day on Thursday will also be "blustery and chilly," with a high of 34 degrees, the weather service said.
After turkey day, the weather service is also monitoring the possibility for some winter weather on Friday night through Saturday.
It's still too early to narrow down specific details with the system, the weather service noted. However, there is a 70+ percent chance for widespread, accumulating snow late Friday through Saturday.

"The potential exists for noteworthy post-holiday travel impacts due to snow-covered roads," according to the weather service.
