Windy Friday, Before Cooler Weekend And Rainy Sunday For Illinois

Cooler conditions are expected this weekend, which is typical of early spring weather.

ILLINOIS — "Fairly typical early spring weather" is in the forecast through early next week, according to the National Weather Service.

After a see-saw of weather conditions and temperatures, the high for Friday will be 61 degrees, a high of 49 on Saturday and a high of 58 on Sunday.

"A windy warm-up [Friday] will be followed by cooler conditions behind a cold front on Saturday, and then showers on Sunday with another cold front," the weather service said.

Winds may gust up to 45 mph on Friday, with the strongest winds from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday. There will also be widely scattered showers on Friday evening, according to the weather service.

Precipitation will return on Sunday, which will have widespread showers in the morning through the early afternoon.

The work week will start cool and blustery, the weather service said. Monday has a high of 50 degrees, and a few morning snow showers are possible. Tuesday has a high of 51.
