Man Electrocuted, Critically Injured While Working At Car Dealership

The incident happened at a business in East Dundee Wednesday morning.

EAST DUNDEE, IL —A man critically injured after being electrocuted at a business in the 700 block of South Dundee Avenue in East Dundee Wednesday morning.

The East Dundee and Countryside fire protection districts were called to Al Piemonte Chevrolet at about 9:20 a.m., and paramedics first at the scene provided emergency medicine to the man, according to a news release from the fire protection district.

Joe Schwab, deputy chief for the East Dundee Fire District, said the man, who is in his 30s, was working as a subcontractor at the business, performing electric work on an electric panel when he was electrocuted.

The person was transported to Advocate Sherman Hospital with critical injuries.

No one else was injured, and the business remained open following the incident. The cause of the electrocution is being investigated, Schwab said.
