2 Men Killed In McHenry County UTV Crash
The collision happened near Hebron on Saturday night. Alcohol is believed to be a factor, police said.
MCHENRY COUNTY, IL — Alcohol is believed to be a factor in a UTV crash in McHenry County over the weekend that claimed the lives of two men and injured a third, police said.
An. investigation into the collision shows a UTV driven by a 40-year-old Harvard man was headed east on Thayer Road near Hebron at a high rate of speed at about 10:50 p.m. Saturday when it went off the road and severed a utility pole, knocking down power lines, according to a news release from the McHenry County Sheriff's Office.
The UTV rolled over several times, and the driver was ejected. The driver and a passenger on the UTV, a 36-year-old Harvard man, were pronounced dead at the scene.

A third passenger, a 35-year-old man from San Carlos, California, sustained minor injuries and declined medical attention, police said.
Police say alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash, and the collision remains under investigation by McHenry County Sheriff’s Office Major Crash Investigation Unit and McHenry County Coroner’s Office.
