Accused Heroin Dealer Accrues Several More Charges in 2nd Arrest in 7 Months
The McHenry County Sheriff's Police Narcotics Task Force arrested the Wonder Lake resident after a month-long investigation.

A 30-year-old Wonder Lake man out on bond for heroin-related charges was arrested again last week, just seven months after he was first taken into custody.
Members of the McHenry County Sheriff’s Police Narcotics Task Force conducted a month-long investigation prior to the Wednesday arrest of Wonder Lake resident Brian Freund. Freund was out on bond after being nabbed on a warrant in July 2016, according to a sheriff's office news alert.
"Detectives made undercover purchases of heroin from him after learning he was allegedly selling
heroin while out on bond from a previous heroin arrest..." the alert said.

Narcotics detectives conducted a search of Freund's home in the 3500 block of East Wonder Lake Road and recovered 42.7 grams of heroin; packaging material; a scale; alprazolam pills; and $540 cash. The street value for the narcotics seized is estimated to be about $8,540.00.

- Two counts of unlawful delivery of a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a church (Class 1)
- Two counts of unlawful delivery of a controlled substance (Class 2)
- Two counts of unlawful possession of a controlled substance (Class 4)
- One count of violating bail bond (Class A)
New Charges
- One count of unlawful delivery of a controlled substance (Class X)
- One count of unlawful possession of a controlled substance (Class X)
- One count of unlawful possession of a controlled substance (Class 4)
- One count of unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia (Class A)
