Applebee's Restaurant in Lake in the Hills Closes

Lake in the Hills no longer has its "Neighborhood Grill."
Applebee's at 251 N. Randall Rd. has closed. The restaurant is one of several Applebee's sites to close in the Chicago suburbs.
The Lake in the Hills location on Thursday had a sign on the front door stating, " This location is closed." The awnings also had been removed from the building.

Applebee's recently announced it would close restaurants in Palatine, Geneva, Homewood, Mokena, Romeoville, Schaumburg, Streamwood and Tinley Park.
At that time, the fate of the Lake in the Hills site was unknown as the company awaited the possible sale of 25 more restaurants.

There was potential, depending upon the sale of asset rights, for those Applebee's to remain open, to close, or a combination of both, company spokesman Dan Smith said.
In April, Apple Illinois announced the permanent closing of eight restaurants, and, as required by Illinois law, Applebee's filed warrant notices regarding those locations to alert employees.
