Coroner IDs Second Man Killed In UTV Crash

The collision happened in the 13300 block of Thayer Road in Hebron on Saturday night.

MCHENRY COUNTY, IL — The McHenry County Coroner's Office has identified a second man killed in a UTV crash over the weekend.

The man, who was driving the UTV at the time of the collision Saturday night, has been identified as Ryan Wilson, 40, of Woodstock, coroner's office officials said Thursday. A passenger killed in the UTV crash was identified earlier in the week as s Bryan Dahm, 36, of Woodstock.

The crash happened at about 10:50 p.m. Saturday when the UTV was headed east on Thayer Road near Hebron at a high rate of speed and went off the road before severing a utility pole and knocking down power lines, according to a news release from the McHenry County Sheriff's Office.

The UTV rolled over several times, and the driver was ejected. Both Wilson and Dahm were pronounced dead at the scene.

A third passenger, a 35-year-old man from San Carlos, California, sustained minor injuries and declined medical attention, police said.

Police say alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash, and the collision remains under investigation by McHenry County Sheriff’s Office Major Crash Investigation Unit and McHenry County Coroner’s Office.
