D300 School Board Member Resigns

The District 300 Board of Education is now seeking a new board member.

ALGONQUIN, IL — A Community Unit School District 300 member has stepped down, leaving a vacancy on the school board.

Board member Randi Gauthier of Rutland Township announced his resignation, which was effective on June 26. Gauthier stepped down due to personal reasons requiring her full attention, accoirndg to a news release from D300.

The board has 60 days since Gauthier's resignation to fill the vacancy. The board of education will conduct interviews on Aug. 6 for those interested in serving as a board member. If there are a large number of applicants, additional interviews will be scheduled for August 5, according to a news release.

Those interested in serving on the board must submit an electronic application and provide a written letter of interest no later than noon on August 2. A board of education member must be a U.S. citizen, at least 18 years old, a resident of Illinois and District 300 for at least one year immediately preceding the appointment, a registered voter and also reside within Rutland Township.
