Firefighter Injured While Battling Brush Fire

The blaze broke out Thursday afternoon in East Dundee.

EAST DUNDEE, IL — A firefighter was injured while battling a brush fire in East Dundee Thursday afternoon.

Several fire departments responded to the blaze in the 1200 block of East Main Street in East Dundee at about 12:50 p.m., according to a news release from the East Dundee & Countryside Fire Protection District.

Winds caused the brush fire to spread, and the blaze was brought under control about an hour later.

No local residents were injured in the blaze but a firefighter was treated and taken to a local hospital for further treatment, according to the news release. The cause of the fire is undetermined at this time, fire officials said.
