Man Accused In 2017 Lake In The Hills Home Invasion Pleads Guilty
Louis A. Hernandez Jr. pleaded guilty on July 25 to several charges in connection with the May 2017 incident.

LAKE IN THE HILLS, IL — A Kane County man accused in a May 2017 Lake in the Hills home invasion and domestic battery incident involving two women pleaded guilty Thursday to several charges, Kane County Chronicle reported. According to the news report, Louis A. Hernandez Jr., 51, of Sleepy Hollow, entered a blind plea to three counts of aggravated domestic battery, two counts of felony home invasion (causing injury), one count of aggravated domestic battery (strangle) and one count of aggravated domestic battery (strange/bodily harm).
According to Lake in the Hills Police Department, a well-being check at a home in the 900 block of Mesa Drive turned into Hernandez's arrested on May 11, 2017. Police were called to the home around 9:23 a.m. and learned during an investigation there had been a home invasion, burglary, strangulation, aggravated domestic battery and kidnapping at the home.

Hernandez was identified as a suspect in the case, and warrants were issued for his arrest, police said. He was arrested after he was found by the McHenry County Sheriff's Department and the United States Marshal's Service.
According to the McHenry County Sheriff's Department, Hernandez's next court date is set for Sept. 13.
