Man Sent For Psych Eval After Allegedly Starting Car On Fire
The incident happened in the 6500 block of Oak Grove Road on Monday afternoon.

MCHENRY COUNTY, IL — A man was taken to a hospital for a psychiatric evaluation for accusations he started a vehicle on fire in Harvard earlier this week.
The Harvard Fire Protection District responded to the 6500 block of Oak Grove Road at about 2:30 p.m. on Monday for a reported vehicle fire. While en route, firefighters were informed that a male subject was attempting to light a vehicle on fire, according to a news release.
When firefighters arrived, they found a small four-door sedan fully engulfed with thick black smoke visible from a distance. Crews quickly confirmed that no one was inside the vehicle and extinguished the fire within about 10 minutes, according to authorities.

The person accused of starting the fire returned to the property while fire crews were still there. The man was ultimately transported to a local hospital for a psychiatric evaluation, according to a news release.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
