Marijuana Sales Tax Is Increasing In This McHenry Co. Town

Village officials in Lake in the Hills have approved a 1% increase in the sales tax on marijuana.

LAKE IN THE HILLS, IL — Lake in the Hills has raised its local cannabis dispensary tax to 3%, which is the maximum amount allowed under state law. The 1% hike will bring Lake in the Hills to the same taxinglevel as all other municipalities in McHenry County that have a dispensary and also a population of more than 5,000 residents, according to Shaw Local News Network.

In addition to the local tax, McHenry County also has a 3% sales tax on marijuana.
