Masks Again Required At LITH Village Hall, Village Facilities

The village made the decision to require masks after two employees tested positive for COVID-19.

LAKE IN THE HILLS, IL — Residents stopping out to village of Lake in the Hills facilities will again be required to wear face masks, village officials announced Friday.

The decision comes after two village employees tested positive for COVID-19 and following an Aug. 2 mandate by the village for staff to again wear face coverings

Neither staff member is believed to have had close contact with the public, village officials said Friday.

McHenry County is currently experiencing substantial transmission, and McHenry County health officials expect to see continued cases in the coming weeks as the Delta variant has been identified in the county.

"As always, the health and safety of the community is the Village’s top priority. The public is strongly encouraged to take all precautions advised by the CDC. The Village of Lake in the Hills will continue to monitor the data and guidelines put out by the CDC, IDPH, and MCDH," according to a statement from the village.
