LAKE BARRINGTON, IL — Police are searching the Barrington area for a possible armed man wanted in connection with a Chicago murder.

At about 2 p.m., authorities alerted residents to the search. Osceola Little, 38, was spotted fleeing on foot from Chicago Police from a business near Route 14 and Pepper Road in Barrington, according to a post on the Lake County Sheriff's Office.

There was a large police presence reported in the area in Lake Barrington at about 2 p.m., authorities said. Anyone who spots Little, who is described as being 5-feet, 10 inches tall, and weighing 165 pounds, is asked to call 911.

Residents should not approach him, police said. Little is reportedly armed and dangerous.

Schools in Barrington were placed on lockdown Tuesday amid the search for Little. Later in the afternoon, school officials alerted parents to updates regarding after-school activities amid the "ongoing police situation in our area," according to the Barrington Community Unit School District 220 website.

All high school after-school activities were scheduled to continue as normal as was the Back to School Night at Countryside Elementary School. All middle school after-school activities and athletics were cancelled due to significant busing delays, according to the Barrington Community Unit School District 220 website.
