Popular Local Breakfast Joint Will Close This Week

ALGONQUIN, IL — A popular breakfast joint in Algonquin will be closing its doors this week.

The last day that Short Stacks, located at 208 S. Main Street in Algonquin, will be in business is Friday, the restaurant announced in a Facebook post on Tuesday. The business has not given a reason for its closing.

The owners of Short Stacks did thank local customers for stopping in over the years.

"We greatly appreciate your loyalty and business for all of these years and we will miss you," the Facebook post read.

The restaurant will be open 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. daily through Friday.

Bella Short Stacks received approval to open at 208 S. Main Street on November 10, 2006, which was 19 years ago, according to a village of Algonquin Business Registration Application provided to Patch.com by village officials.
