Randall Road Project Gets Another $20M In Federal Funding
Construction for the second phase of the road project is scheduled to begin in 2024.

MCHENRY COUNTY, IL — McHenry County has secured an additional $20 million in federal funding for the second phase of the Randall Road improvement project.
The federal funding, which comes from surface transportation program funds from the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning, will help cover the cost for improvements on Randall Road from Ackman Road in Crystal Lake to Polaris Drive/Acorn Lane in Lake in the Hills.
So far, the Randall Road project has brought in $37.9 million in federal funding, according to a news release.

Work completed two years ago on the first phase of the Randall Road project, which included the addition of lanes, two new signalized intersections and pedestrian and bicycle accommodations, as well as upgraded flow at the intersection of Randall and Algonquin roads and a new pedestrian underpass and paved walkways.
Construction for the second phase is scheduled to begin in 2024. The northern portion of the Randall Road project includes more than road widening with plans to construct multi-use paths, transit improvements and sidewalk accommodations along with ADA improvements.
