It was confirmed that no occupants were in the home, Ravagnie said. The occupants had escaped safely.
The fire was contained to the garage but the home sustained smoke damage throughout.
Ravagnie said it took firefighters approximately 10 minutes to bring the fire under control.
Fire crews continued working for another 30 minutes performing overhaul operations to ensure the fire was fully extinguished.
The home was equipped with working smoke detectors that alerted the occupants to the fire, Ravagnie said.
