The Village of Lake in the Hills Board of Trustees is seeking applicants to fill a vacancy on the Planning and Zoning Commission. Applications are due by October 29, 2021.

The Planning and Zoning Commission reviews applications regarding variances, zoning amendments, conditional use permits, and planned unit developments and appeals to decisions made by the Director of Community and Economic Development.
“Members of the Planning and Zoning Commission play a critical role in shaping the economic and physical landscape of Lake in the Hills,” said Village President Ray Bogdanowski. “Residents with a strong interest in public service and community development are encouraged to apply.”

The commission is also responsible for reviewing subdivision plats and development plans. Based on their review and discussion, members make recommendations related to community development to the Village Board of Trustees.
The commission meets on the Monday following the second Thursday of every month. The meetings start at 7:30 p.m. and are open to the public.
Village President Ray Bogdanowski will review applications and candidates to fill the vacancy. All commission members are appointed by the Village President with the advice and consent by the Village Board.
Those interested in applying are invited to visit lith.org/government/boards-commissions to download an application form. Once completed, application forms may be submitted to Village President Ray Bogdanowski at rbogdanowski@lith.org by October 29, 2021.
Residents are invited to call the Administration Department at 847-960-7400 from Monday to Friday between 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with any questions related to the commission vacancy or application process.
