Please note, trees near electrical wires must sometimes be significantly trimmed or removed. Trees that grow higher than 20 feet, like elm, maple, and blue spruce, should never be planted under or near distribution power lines. These trees can cause outages and safety issues at full height. Instead, choose trees and bushes that grow to a full height of less than 20 feet, like dogwoods or crabapples, when planting near distribution power lines. Click here to learn more about vegetation maintenance along power lines and ComEd’s “Right Tree, Right Place” program.

Residents may contact ComEd at 1-800-Edison-1 with any questions or concerns.
