Ice Fishing Derby Planned For February On Woods Creek Lake

The Ice Fishing Derby will be held on Sunday, February 6.

We’ll award first ($100) and second ($75) place payouts, and a prize pack will be given for the longest bass and pike. The longest crappie, bluegill, and kid’s biggest fish will be recognized with awards.

Check-in between 6:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. at the LaBahn Hain House, located at 149 Hilltop Drive.

Pre-registration costs $25 for Lake in the Hills residents or $30 for non-residents. Register early! On-site registration costs $35 for Lake in the Hills residents or $40 for non-residents.

The final catch will be at 2:00 p.m. In between catches, sample the Chili Off (https://bit.ly/3yHKMps) and Cookie Bake-Off (https://bit.ly/33M8mGb) entries around 2:00 p.m. at the LaBahn Hain House while supplies last.

Anyone 16 years and older must have a fishing license. Catch and release fishing only. Kids 14 and under may enter free with a paying adult 18+, but they are required to register.

The event will take place as a traditional fishing derby in the event of no ice.
