Where To Find Cooling Centers In Alsip-Crestwood: Extreme Heat Advisory Issued

ALSIP-CRESTWOOD, IL — The scorching heat is back, with an extreme heat advisory in effect from Wednesday morning through Thursday evening. Expect afternoon highs in the 90s and low 80s in the evening, with a possible heat index of 110 to 115 degrees F, according to the National Weather Service.

The one-two punch of high heat and humidity could create a dangerous situation in which heat-related illnesses are possible.

Check on elderly and disabled family and friends and neighbors. Have plenty of water on hand for your pets and keep them inside or in a shaded shelter. Call 911 if you think someone needs a well-being check, and you can’t get there yourself, or if you see someone struggling on the street.
