Arlington Heights Historical Museum Hosts Historic Holiday Teas

The museum will host three teas in the 100 year old historic Banta House in December.

Arlington Heights, IL — The Arlington Heights Historical Museum will be hosting three teas this holiday season in the 100 year old historic Banta House (517 Vail Street) on December 10th and 11th.

  • Doll Tea with Fancy Nancy! – December 10th at 10:30am—Doll lovers of all ages will enjoy this special tea served in the 110 year old N.M. Banta house on the museum grounds. Participants have a detailed look at displays of our historic Martha Mills doll collection and view the charming Lorraine Korenthal dollhouses. We will read Fancy Nancy: Fanciest Doll in the Universe for our younger visitors. You are encouraged to dress very fancy, just like Nancy! Dolls are welcome to come to tea, too—you are never too old to bring your favorite doll! The tea includes delicious sandwiches (for dolls and their people), homemade sweets, steaming pots of tea and a festive punch.
  • Fancy Nancy Splendiferous Tea –December 10th at 2pm—Oh la la! A fancy tea in the historic Banta House. Put on your sparkles and glitter, and don’t forget accessories! Dressed fancy, just like Nancy, we will read Fancy Nancy: Splendiferous Christmas and enjoy beautiful harp music in the parlor of this 110 year old home. Delectable tea sandwiches and sweets are on the menu, along with hot tea and holiday punch.
  • Tea at the Museum—December 11th at 1:30pm—Join us for a tradition in the historic Banta House. Invite your family and friends to tea in the century old arts and crafts inspired home to enjoy delicious finger sandwiches and sweets accompanied by steaming pots of tea and festive punch. The halls are decked, and the tables are set with linens and silver. The harpist is ready; we await your arrival!

The cost is $25 per person. Children must be 5 years and older for the Fancy Nancy Teas and accompanied by a paid adult to attend. Please register online here by December 2nd. For more information, call the museum at 847-255-1225 or go to our website.

The Museum is run through a partnership between the Arlington Heights Historical Society, the Arlington Heights Park District, and the Village of Arlington Heights.
