She participated in the development of the library’s strategic plan, served in the selection of a new executive director and participated in the acquisition and design of the new community makerspace.

During her tenure on the board, Thanopoulos also worked on finding a new library director in Mike Driskell and on establishing the library’s “makerspace” area, Journal & Topics reported.

Thanopoulos told the newspaper that if her schedule lightens up in the future, she's not opposed to running again for a trustee position.
