Arlington Heights Man Used Racial Slurs To Bus Driver: Police
James Joseph, 67, was charged with a hate crime after police said he used slurs and threatened a Pace bus driver recently in Elmhurst.

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — A 67-year-old Arlington Heights man is facing felony hate crime charges after he was arrested in Elmhurst for allegedly using racial slurs while threatening to harm a bus driver.
James Joseph was arrested last week after Elmhurst Police made contact with Joseph on a Pace bus where police said that the driver of the bus reported that Joseph had yelled slurs at the driver and made threats to harm the driver.
The police report did not indicate the nature of the reported slurs or the threats that were made. Police officers made contact with Joseph on the bus, according to the police report, and reported that Joseph threatened them as well.

Joseph was arrested on the bus and transported to the Elmhurst Police Station where he was charged with a hate crime and with disorderly conduct, police said. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
He was released after posting bond and will appear in court on the charges at a later date.
