Incumbent, 3 Newcomers Projected To Win Arlington Heights Seats
Four seats on the Arlington Heights Village Board were up for grabs in Tuesday's consolidated election.

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — Eight candidates were vying for four open seats on the Arlington Heights Village Board in Tuesday's local election. Though the results are unofficial, it appears Jim Bertucci was the top vote-getter, and retained his seat on the board, and will be joined by new trustees Carina Santa Maria, Greg Zyck and Bill Manganaro. Each seat is for a four-year term.
With 52 of 52 precincts reporting, 13,362 ballots were cast for a 23.86 percent participation rate, according to the Cook County Clerk. Here were the unofficial vote tallies according to Cook County, with the top four getting seats:
- Jim Bertucci: 7,301 votes (16.72 percent)
- Carina Santa Maria: 6,926 votes (15.86 percent)
- Greg Zyck: 6,229 votes (14.27 percent)
- Bill Manganaro: 5,619 votes (12.87 percent)
- Colin Gilbert: 4,841 (11.09 percent)
- Michele Hunter: 4,454 votes (10.20 percent)
- Anargyros Karafotias: 4,288 votes (9.82 percent)
- Martin Bauer: 4,003 votes (9.17 percent)
Bertucci, 65, was appointed to his seat on the Village Board in May 2021. He is a financial planner and investment advisor.

Santa Maria is a CEO and licensed clinical social worker.
Zyck works is a sales and marketing executive in manufacturing. He has been on the board of trustees for the Arlington Heights Memorial Library since 2013, serving as president for four years and treasurer for four years. Zyck has also spent six years on the Village of Arlington Heights Housing Commission.

Manganaro is a manager of client counseling at Health Care Service Corporation.
