Causes Of Supervisor, Employee Deaths Revealed In Arlington Heights: Coroner
A Palatine man and a Naperville man were discovered dead Friday night in the utility room of a residential complex.
ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — The cause of deaths and identifications of a supervisor and his employee found dead Friday night in the utility room of a residential complex have been revealed. The men have been identified as Juan Medina, 53, of Palatine, and Steven M. Weigensberg, 53, of Naperville, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.
Medina died from a gunshot wound to the head in an apparent suicide, while Weigensberg's death has been ruled a homicide from multiple gunshot wounds.

First responders from the Arlington Heights police and fire department were dispatched to the Dana Point Condominiums in the 1500 block of East Central Road at around 4:30 p.m. Friday, following a 911 call that the two men were unconscious in the home. Upon arrival, the emergency personnel said it was "clearly evident" the men had experienced traumatic injuries and were beyond medical care. AHFD paramedics confirmed through interaction with hospital medial staff that the men were deceased.
AHPD is working with the Major Case Assistance Team as the investigation proceeds. AHPD was also joined by the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office to determine an official manner and cause of death for the two men.
