Details Of Armed Robbery At Grocery Store Released: Mount Prospect PD

MOUNT PROSPECT, IL — Police have released more details regarding an armed robbery that occurred Wednesday night at a grocery store. An investigation is ongoing and police are still searching for a suspect.

Mount Prospect police responded to a report of an armed robbery at around 5:32 p.m. Wednesday, at El Amigo Carniceria, 403 East Euclid Ave. A man had entered the store, displayed a black-colored handgun, and demanded money from the clerk. He then fled the store with an undisclosed amount of money, according to police.

The man — described as Hispanic, between the ages of 35 and 45, around 5-foot-4 to 5-foot-6, with a medium build, wearing a black hoodie and black pants — left the area in a white SUV.

Police said the store clerk, along with another employee in the store, were not injured. There were no customers in the store at the time of the robbery.
